Two hostages were released by the rebel Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) on Wednesday, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) confirmed in a statement. Mexican police on Saturday rescued two television journalists kidnapped by drug cartel members who demanded networks broadcast their messages. Amnesty International on Monday welcomed the release of a member of the Colombian security forces held captive for almost a year by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
