Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez is discussing regional and global issues on Thursday in Damascus with his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad, Venezuelan Ambassador in Syria Emad Saab told DPA.

The two presidents will also talk about bilateral trade and industrial agreements, he added.

Chavez landed in Damascus on Wednesday from Iran as part of his international tour. This is the third official visit the Venezuelan President pays to the Arab country.
The two presidents have scheduled a press conference to talk about the agreements reached. The next stages in the presidential tour are Libya and Portugal.
