The Syrian community in Venezuelan described President Bashar al-Assad's visit to the Latin America as a "historic" not only because it is the first for a Syrian president to the continent, but because it opens wide doors for cooperation between Syria and countries of the continent and extends bridges of rapprochement between the Syrian community in the countries of immigration and their motherland.
Member of Venezuelan Parliament of Syrian origin Joel Jabbour said the visit constitutes an important historic station in the relations between Syria and Venezuela and the Latin American countries on the economic, social and political levels as it supports the joint stances in the international arena.
"The visit of President al-Assad gains importance due to the prominent political role that Syria and the countries which the visit will include are playing", Chairman of Venezuela Fia Arab Adel al-Sagheer said.
"The Syrian community sees that the visit is of great importance in extending new bridges for communication between Syria and Syrian expatriates in Latin America and in further cultural and trade cooperation in addition to helping the Syrian community to commit its heritage and national culture through teaching the Arabic language." Head of the Syrian-Venezuelan Club in Caracas Adel Elias said.
