The nuclear power station that Russian engineers will build in Venezuela will have a capacity of 500 megawatts, Rafael Ramírez, the Venezuelan Ministry of Energy and Petroleum and President of state-run oil company Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (Pdvsa), told Efe.
"The plant will we able to generate 500 megawatts," Ramírez said at the end of a press conference held by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chávez, Efe reported.
Ramírez did not elaborate on the date of commissioning of the plant or its location, because the project is still in "a preliminary stage," he said.
